ROCK N ROLLA – Andre Marcolla VS KIWI – Daniel Kerr.
Rock n Rolla is a BJJ purple belt and the representative of the famous Brazilian Chute Boxe team who also has some professional Muay Thai experience and isn’t afraid to bang. Kiwi is a Muay Thai champion from New Zealand who likes to keep things standing and show off his striking skills but already has four pro MMA fights under his belt and is no novice on the ground.
The winner of this fight will proceed to the Quarter final level of DARE Championship and a step closer of being in the group of the first DARE Champions and the receivers of the Million Dollar Grand Bonus.
ONE MILLION DOLLARS. IN A CAGE. GAME ON.
ROCK N ROLLA – Andre Marcolla has only ever had one pro MMA fight but it was an all out war which was a lot of fun for the fans and demonstrated that despite having a high level of BJJ he isn’t afraid to stand and slug it out. He is now based in Phuket but is still part of the legendary Chute Boxe team from Brazil which produced such superstars as Anderson Silva, Wanderlei Silva and Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua.
He has won Grapplers Quest and the Brazilian BJJ Championship and has an amateur MMA record of 5-0 and a professional Muay Thai record of 5-1, he’s also a personal trainer and nutritionist who is guaranteed to come into this fight in fantastic shape.
Andre Marcolla trains out of the Maximum Fitness, Phuket, represents Phuket Pro Nutrition Fight Team and Chute Boxe Brazil.

KIWI – Daniel Kerr is one of the best Muay Thai fighters New Zealand has ever produced and the current WKA Light Heavyweight South Pacific Muay Thai titleholder. In MMA he is a former TUFFA Middleweight champion who has faced some of the best 185 lbs/ 84 kilo fighters in Australia. 38 of his 47 Muay Thai wins are by knockout and he has heavy hands and devastating leg kicks.
Although Kerr is clearly a Muay Thai specialist he has been involved in the MMA game long enough to know how to defend takedowns and be able to handle himself on the ground.
Dan Kerr represents Lanna Muay Thai in Chiang Mai. For more information, please visit:
Here are the thoughts of veteran MMA journalist James Goyder,
“This is a great match up between two big, powerful 84 kilo/ 185 lbs fighters. On paper it looks like a striker vs grappler match up but I have a feeling Marcolla is not going to be overawed by his opponent’s stand up. The Brazilian is confident on his feet and has been doing a lot of Muay Thai himself lately, if it does go to the ground Kerr won’t exactly be out of his depth either, I think both fighters will be ready to go the full three rounds if they have to and this should be a really fun fight for the DARE fans.” He said.
DARE 2/2012 is the fourth event put on by the DARE promotion and takes place at Club Insomnia Bangkok on March 17th. The first fight will get underway at 4pm local time and the entire event is being streamed live on the internet at www.darelive.tv and at www.gfl.tv for just $9.99.
